Internet television (commonly referred to by the acronym IPTV) is different from normal broadcast TV in that television content is received by the consumer via a computer network based on the Internet Protocol (IP). An example of an IPTV service is SingTel's Mio TV which runs on a secure IP network set up by the telco for this purpose.
